The beautiful city of Dupnitsa, in Bulgaria was the host of the 18th edition of the Balkan Taekwondo Championships for two competition days on the 24th and 25th of September 2016.
With 9 countries from the Balkan region being present and over 500 competitors for both kyorugi and poomsae, the event was clearly a successful one as Mr. Ivan Banchevski as Vice-President and Mr. Apostol Constantin as Secretary General of the Balkan Taekwondo Union oversaw the progess in both organization and competition management.
The winner of this year’s Balkan Taekwondo Championships and first place country was Serbia, followed by Bulgaria and, on the third place, Turkey. Romania ended up on the 4th place, followed by the National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania and finishing up with Moldova and Montenegro.
We area very pleased with how everything turned out and with the quality of the organization skills of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation and we hope to see everyone and more next year at the Balkan Taekwondo Championships.28
